Custom Easel for Custom Artwork

May 5, 2016

After falling in love with painting on acrylic panels, I soon realized my non-traditional style of painting would require a non-traditional type of art stand.  I spent endless hours searching for a stand that would allow me to mount acrylic panels safely and securely.  After many failed attempts at building something that would give me the durability and flexibility I dreamed of, Jonathan Alvarado finally created this custom stand.  It is almost impossible to use a traditional art easel when painting on acrylic panels because the process of painting is reverse.  This stand not only securely holds acrylic panels but canvas as well.  It folds up and can adjust according to size.  I want to share this information with other artists out there who may be in need of something "outside the box".  If you are an artist in need of a custom stand, feel free to contact me and I will put you in touch with Jonathan Alvarado.

Faith and Serendipity Make Their Way on Canvas

October 9, 2015

Jennifer Ayyad has always held a special place in her heart for children. When given the opportunity to donate a piece of artwork for Scottish Rite Hospital's Treasure Street, she was honored. Jennifer had recently completed a piece of artwork inspired by a message she heard in church one Sunday. The message was about submission and the difficulties we face on earth. "We have trust in God because He has a plan for us even when life seems chaotic and we feel alone."  Not knowing at the time this painting would hold its own purpose, Jennifer was creating a work of art for a cause.  She serendipitously used all of the Scottish Rite Hospital's color themes and there are several symbolic images hidden within the piece. However, due to the nature of abstract art, the artist allows the viewer to draw in their own conclusions about what they see.  The artwork will be auctioned off on October 15th. Treasure Street is also celebrating it's 20 year anniversary. For more details on this event click here.

The custom piece is acrylic on acrylic, titled "Beyond the Horizon, 30 x 48. The title of this painting has its own meaning to the artist in the most literal form. "You never know what is just beyond the horizon or what opportunity may come your way but I truly believe you can have the best of both worlds, combing two passions and making them cohesively work together. This commission was just another example of having that opporunity. I am sincerely humbled."
